Welcome To Frank's Cafe at PRDS!

Frank's Cafe is a full-service student-operated culinary training program. All PRDS classes participate in this program in our newly renovated kitchen area.  Students prepare coffee daily and make complete lunches three days each week. Students serve our customers and manage the dining room. Students who prepare the meals have the opportunity to enjoy their own culinary creations.

The Cafe provides lunches to staff on the Piscataway Campus, including visitors to the Professional Development Academy. Customers may take out their meals or enjoy our beautiful cafe setting. Weather permitting, al fresco dining is also available.

Our students are learning food preparation skills that can be used at home to increase their independence. Heating frozen items using a microwave, cooking on a stovetop or an oven and using appliances and tools safely are skills taught by our Cafe Coordinator and Executive Chef, Ms. Maureen Hodroski. Our students are also learning food preparation skills that are used in commercial  establishments and that may result in job sampling opportunities. Our panini, sandwich and salad preparation stations are similar to those found in many chain restaurants.

Frank's Cafe continues to receive rave reviews from our customers and chefs alike!
