Montclair man completes 22nd charity bike ride

Montclair resident Bill Zuppa completed his 22nd Georgie Caunt Memorial Ride, also know as One Man-One Bike-One Child, in honor of his nephew, who had cerebral palsy and passed away at age 14.

Each year since 1996, with the money raised through donations and sponsors, Mr. Zuppa presents a check to a student at PRDS so the student’s family can make a difference in that child’s life. The  school selects the recipients.

Families in the past have used the funds, which are typically over $5,000, to help pay for a child’s trip to Disney World, or for the installation of wheelchair-accessible ramps at their homes. The money has also helped families impacted by fires or weather events.
